National Association of Memorial Masons
The National Association of Memorial Masons is the representative body of the memorial sector in the UK, supporting craft masons and the preservation of their skills. NAMM work with organisations such as CITB, MOJ, BSI City & Guilds and Local Authorities and have instigated many important industry initiatives such as the NAMM Code of Working Practice ( the founding document of BS8415) Ground Anchor Accreditation and the setting up of RQMF ( Register of Qualified Memorial Fixers ) which confirms memorial fixers are appropriately qualified and insured.
NAMM has attained City & Guilds Assured training status, successful candidates receive industry recognised certification on subjects such as Memorial Fixing and Safety Inspection and Assessment of Memorials ( SIAM)
Assured training and Industry recognised certification provides the highest assurance, raising standards of memorial fixing and enhancing levels of safety and memorial inspection procedures within UK Cemeteries.
NAMM also organise their bi-annual TRADEX / CRAFTEX event which is open to all memorial masons TRADEX enables memorial consumable and materials providers to promote their wares direct to masons and CRAFTEX displays carved, sculptured and etched exhibits where prizes are awarded for various categories. The event is held at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre and promoted by NAMM through direct marketing to masons nationwide, their in-house newsletter and on-line promotion at www.namm.org.uk
