Tom Fotheringham
Tom joined Stanton Williams in 2011 and has worked on a number of high profile cultural, public and residential projects. These include the refurbishment and extension of the Grade II* listed Rhodes House in Oxford, the design of a new gallery within the British Museum to house the Waddesdon Bequest, and a new community center for Milton Keynes, for all of which he held the role of project architect. He has a particular interest in working with existing and heritage buildings, and is part of the LETI working group for their non-domestic retrofit guide.
Tom graduated with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2011 with a Master of Architecture following a first-class Master of Arts degree in Architectural Design. He completed his professional qualification in 2014 at the University of Cambridge. During his studies, Tom was awarded the Andrew Grant Bequest Award and George Simpson Prize. Prior to joining Stanton Williams, Tom worked at Gross Max Landscape Architects in Edinburgh and, with agps.architecture in Zurich. Tom is a fluent German speaker.
Tom has acted as a visiting tutor and critic for architectural design programs at several universities. These include; University of Edinburgh, University College London, Oxford Brookes University, London Metropolitan University and University of East London. He has also been an examiner for the Professional Practice (Part 3) course at University College London. He has given public lectures at the British Museum and the Society of Antiquaries.
