Chris is based at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission's Head Office in Maidenhead.  He started with the CWGC in 2011 as UK Area Works Manager and subsequently Acting Director of United Kingdom Area. He has also spent two years in Africa Asia Pacific Area before moving to the Estates Department in late 2015. He is responsible for the oversight of structural projects and the 5-year Structural Projects Plan around the world, headstone production, and promoting the conservation-based approach to the maintenance and repairs of CWGC's Historic Estate. He has a background in Civil Engineering, Building Conservation and Applied Mathematics. Chris has worked in Canada, the Falkland Islands and the United Kingdom, as well as many of the countries where the CWGC has cemeteries and memorials.
