Bernard Burns

Director Of Business Development, Szerelmey
Bernard has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, he originally trained as a Carpenter and Joiner in the mid-70s, and he joined a much respected large construction company in 1981 and trained further in Project and General Management. Bernard joined Cathedral Works Organisation in 1991 as General Manager raising to Managing Director. He has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the Conservation and Restoration of our Built Heritage and the design of Stone Buildings and Structures. Bernard joined Szerelmey in 2014 and is responsible for New Business Development across Szerelmey, he provides technical advice and client design team liaison between Szerelmey and carry’s out (CPD’s) Continual Professional Development seminars to Designers, Quantity Surveyor’s, Engineers and project Managers.
Bernard's other industry activities are , he is a member of the executive committee of the Stone Federation GB (SFGB) and was Chair of the SFGB Safety Forum until 2015,He is now Chair of the SFGB's Stone Heritage Group which launched in July 2016 he is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Masons and a freeman of the City of London.
